After six long years, Brielle Woods has finally put the past behind her. Or so she thought, until she bumps into the hotshot who turned her world upside down and left her…to raise their son…alone.
Can they overcome baggage from their past and give into the passion that still burns between them? Or will they lose the chance at true happiness and the family they both long for?
It’s a story about two people who meet at a time when they are both struggling with their own inner turmoil. Tragic news separates their bubble of bliss and they are accidently reunited six years later. And Oops! They have a child together.

If you are a parent do you find it hard to juggle writing and parenting? Any tips for time management or sneaking in writing time?
I have a little Beagle puppy who is attached to me at the hip, he’s basically my shadow. I adore him to bits and he is very much my child. He also demands a lot of my time and attention, oftentimes pulling my papers away or resting his head ON my laptop when I am working. Writing is work – make the time for it. I have a full time day job and by the time I get home, my brain is fried so I don’t always have the energy to crack open my laptop when I get home. What I do though is carve out my time on the weekends. Early mornings with complete peace and quiet. I jot down my ideas and work off a plan to keep me focused. And I keep to a word goal for each day – this is usually 5000 words a day. Not an easy task.
Is there a theme or message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?
My message is always to be a strong, independent woman and to rise up above your circumstances. And as a man, you can be a caveman, rough and rugged, but always love, respect and protect your woman.
What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
I am pint sized, teeny tiny. Oh and I can move my ears without touching them. Oh AND I have a pretty decent Irish accent. J
What is your favourite food?
I love most spicy food but Portuguese is my favourite! Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Definitely morning person.
Where do you dream of travelling to and why?
I love going to places with rich culture. My idea of a holiday is not sitting on a beach and roasting. I much prefer adventure and learning about other ideologies. I have wanted to see Dubai, Thailand, Bali… all of which I have visited in the last year. Greece and Italy are other destinations that are on my Bucket List. You can read all about my travels at http://www.melissakatebooks.com/
Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?
My current story, my hero is just adorable and funny. He’s my favorite so far – you will see why when the book is released.
What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?
I have another book coming out in the next few months… the details will be published soon but I can tell you the title… It Had to be You
What book are you reading now?
I am sans books right now because I need to get my own story out. I get really sucked in and can’t put a good book down so I’m abstaining till my fourth book is complete.
What is in your to read pile?
Lauren Layne and Jill Shalvis!
What are you doing when you are not writing?
I love having my fingers in multiple pots, it’s what tends to happen when you get bored easily. My most recent project has been my Travel Journals. It’s designed by myself and printed locally. Lightweight and versatile, the Travel Journal allows you to plan, plot and savour every moment of multiple journeys. You can read more about it here: Travel Journal
