If you know me well, then you know I’m quite green when it comes to makeup. I watch a lot of makeup videos and I follow a lot of beauty bloggers to keep up and learn how to apply makeup properly. I recently realised that my makeup collection had dwindled quite drastically so off I went to the shops, but I am very selective when it comes to shopping. Quite honestly, I don’t think my beauty collection would ever, be even a quarter of some of these lovely beauty bloggers. I’m generally a less is more person and also makeup does have a shelf life so I wouldn’t really want to accumulate too much and then have to throw most of them away. And secondly, I shop cruelty free and there’s (shockingly) quite a few companies that do test on animals. It’s so sad 🙁
While shopping I came across L.A Girls Cosmetics in Dischem. Yes, my readers, their cruelty free. I had read a few reviews on these products and decided to give their blush collection a try. I’m Indian and because of my darker skin tone, I chose the Glam collection. I must admit, I was in 2 minds. I generally choose good colours for my skin tone but I wondered if these colours were perhaps just a tad bit too dark for me. The procrastinator in me came out and after much debate, and the constant picking it up and putting it down, I finally decided that at R99.99, What the hell, I should just give it a shot.
There’s 4 colours in this collection, 2 different shades of pink blush and then a bronzer and highlighter for contouring.
As you can see by the pictures, the pigment of this makeup is impressive. I love both the shades of blush. I use the lighter one a lot, as it gives my cheeks a pretty pink tinge without being overbearing. I use the darker pink for stage and performance. It’s beautiful and rich and really gives my cheeks a bright pop of colour.
Omw….i clearly have been living under a rock. How awesome is contouring…I don’t know how I did without it.
Here’s a picture of where you’re meant to use the bronzer and highlighter respectively. Who knew these 2 hues of colour could make such a difference.
For the price that I paid, I would say that this collection is definitely worth it. Go on, go get yourself one…and you can thank me later.
