The Make Up Eraser

Hello Beautiful people
Today on the blog, I will be discussing the makeup eraser. Now, this has been quite a craze in the beauty world and after seeing it on instagram so many times, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and purchased one. Let me firstly say, this piece of cloth sells for between R250 – R300. I know you are inwardly cringing, I did as well, that is why it actually took me so long to make a decision whether to purchase it or not.

Ok, so if you don’t know what this is, it’s an oval piece of pink cloth that looks similar to a face cloth.
Here’s a few statements that the makeup eraser claims to fulfill
– Remove your makeup with just water
– Waterproof Mascara removed in seconds
– All Natural, No Chemicals
– Machine Washable – No stains remain
– Soft and promotes healthy skin

So, if you don’t know me very well, then let me enlighten you. Material possessions don’t excite me much, new experiences, learning and growing as a person is what makes me happy. Now the reason I mention this is so you will then understand why after purchasing this product it just laid in my cupboard for about 2 months before I even tried it out. Yes, I know, that is really bad, but on the bright side, at least I can say material possessions don’t define me:-)
Ok, back to the review…have you noticed how I tend to get sidetracked. Anyway, when I first opened the box, I felt a tad disgruntled (which could be the other reason why it stayed so long in my cupboard unused). I mean, I paid R270,(+ R60 for shipping), for a cloth! Was I seriously out of my mind!

However, when I did eventually get around to using it, I was pleasantly surprised. It removed all of my masacra which to be honest, I really do battle to do, even on a good day. I did not wake up the next morning resembling a panda bear, which was awesome.
Now with that being said, I don’t agree with the statement that only water is required. I tried that the first time and although my skin felt clean afterwards, the cotton pad that I used to tone told me a much different story. The 2nd time around, I used my normal daily cleanser with the eraser and that did the job thoroughly. It definitely does promote healthy skin. My skin felt soft and actually looked so radiant the next morning. No exaggeration! I was quite impressed.
Sooooo…is it really easy to clean. Yes! Surprisingly so. I just tossed it into the machine (Definitely a big score for the lazy girls),and it came out looking the way it did when I first opened it. Impressive, and even after a few washes, it still cleans my skin good.
So would I recommend it. I would, but a part of me still feels that the price is just a bit too much. I think this is the accountant in me coming out. However that being said, it can be looked at as a long term investment and if you’re a serious beauty addict, then it’s a definite musthave. Who wants to spend so much time removing makeup, when the makeup eraser can do it in about 10 minutes.
Until next time
Stay Beautiful
xoxo
